Bali arrivals jump 15% in 2014

Island welcomes 3.76m visitors in 2014 and aims for 4m in 2015

saw a strong rise in terms of international visitor arrivals in 2014.

Bali Data released by the island’s provincial tourism office, reported by the Antara news agency, showed that Bali welcomed 3.76 million overseas visitors last year, up 14.9% compared to the 2013 total of 3.27m.

And this  number is expected to rise further in 2015, to more than four million visitors, following the recent launch of a new visa waiver scheme for tourists from key markets including Australia, China, Russia, South Korea and Japan.

Once again, Australia was Bali’s largest visitor source market in 2014, accounting for 991,024 visitors, or 26.3% of the annual total. China was second, with 586,197 visitors, and Malaysia third with 224,962.
