Ritz-Carlton will continue its Chinese expansion this year with the launch of its first hotel in Tianjin.
Opening in mid-2013, the Ritz-Carlton Tianjin will be located on the Haihe River, in the former British concession area of the city, surrounded by the 19th and 20th Century European-style buildings.
“The opening of The Ritz-Carlton Tianjin… reflects our desire to meet the growing Chinese appetite for luxury experiences,” said Herve Humler, Ritz-Carlton’s president & chief operations officer. “The Ritz-Carlton Tianjin represents a major gateway opportunity that will accelerate the recognition of our service commitment to excellence by Chinese guests. It is an exciting time to lead the evolution of bespoke luxury by creating memorable experiences that will stay with them for life.”
The property, which features a grand neo-classical facade, will house 277 rooms and suites, plus four restaurants and bars, including a Cantonese restaurant with 10 private dining rooms, each featuring its own private wine cellar.
There will also be a lounge with a fireplace, a library, indoor pool, spa, and 1,625m² of conference and banqueting space.
