SilverNeedle Hospitality has announced plans for a major expansion of its boutique hotel brand, the SilverNeedle Collection.

The collection, which currently features three properties in Thailand and Laos, is expected to grow to at least 15 properties by 2016. And on a recent visit to Bangkok, SilverNeedle’s Managing Director & Group CEO, Iqbal Jumabhoy, said Thailand presented significant opportunities for the brand’s expansion.

“Thailand especially is a key market for development and we are actively pursuing opportunities for hotels and resorts that are the right fit for the SilverNeedle Collection,” Jumabhoy said. “Thailand closed 2012 with a record 22 million tourist arrivals, and with an office strategically positioned in Bangkok and our global head office in Singapore, we are perfectly poised to begin this new phase of growth,” he added.

137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai

Currently the SilverNeedle Collection includes the 68-room Riva Surya in Bangkok, the 30-suite 137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai and the 24-room Kiridara Luang Prabang. And Jumabhoy said future additions to the portfolio would encompass a range of styles, “from intimate retreats embraced by nature to urban havens in the city”.

“Every hotel featured is distinguished by offering guests unique and authentic experiences in special and desirable locations,” he added.
