Ritz-Carlton has unveiled plans to launch a luxury all-villa resort within one of China’s earliest UNESCO World Heritage sites, Jiuzhaigou Valley. Located in Sichuan province, on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, the property will overlook multi-level waterfalls, lakes and forests. Jiuzhaigou Valley which translates as the “Valley of the Nine Village Forts”, covers 72,000 hectares.

Indonesia continues to set itself ambitious tourism targets, with plans announced to attract an additional three million annual visitors next year. The Indonesian Tourism Ministry is now targeting for 15m international arrivals in 2017, up from an expected 12m this year. By 2019, the country is aiming to attract 20m overseas visitors.
