New-build “six-star” resort and residences to be developed on Bali’s southwest coast.

Donald Trump will bring his luxury hotel brand to Asia for the first time, following the signing of a new resort in Bali.

The Trump Hotel Collection has penned a management agreement with Indonesia’s MNC Group for a new “six-star” luxury resort and residential development on Bali’s southwest coast, close to the Tanah Lot temple.

The move forms part of a major expansion of the Trump portfolio, with four new hotels scheduled to launch in 2016, in Washington DC, Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver and Baku.

“As we continue to strategically grow the Trump Hotel Collection, we seek only the world’s most desirable destinations,” said Donald Trump Jr, executive vice president of development & acquisitions for The Trump Organization.

“Bali is consistently voted as one of the world’s best islands and is one of the best resort and residential destinations globally. This is an exciting time for Trump Hotels and we are honoured to announce our expansion into Asia and bring to market an extraordinary luxury property.”

While exact details of the new Bali resort have yet to be announced, the Trump Hotel Collection said it “plans to deliver the most prestigious resort and residential offerings in Asia”.

“The world-class property will have an integrated lifestyle resort vision providing the largest suites and villas with expansive views along with the finest combination of an unprecedented proposition of incredible amenities and six-star services,” it added.

Built on a cliff top location, the resort will offer views of the Indian Ocean and Tanah Lot. Construction work is expected to commence in 2016.

The signing of the Bali property follows the recent visit of an MNC Group delegation to New York, where Donald Trump held an official signing ceremony with Hary Tanoesoedibjo, MNC Group’s president & CEO.
