Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group continued to expand its Asia Pacific portfolio in the first quarter of 2013, with the opening of two more hotels and the signing of three others.

The company kicked off the second quarter of the year with the signing of Radisson Blu Zhengzhou Huiji in central China’s Henan province. This followed a strong first three months of the year, during which the company opened the 204-room Park Inn by Radisson Davao in the Philippines and the 94-room County Inns & Suites By Carlson Navi Mumbai. Also during the quarter Carlson signed the 160-room Park Inn by Radisson Mohali, the 88-room Park Inn by Radisson Gurgaon Sector 88 and the 100-room Park Inn by Radisson Bhiwadi, forming part of a major Indian expansion plan for the midscale Park Inn brand.

In addition, Carlson Rezidor signed a joint venture agreement with Indonesia’s Panorama Group to develop 20 Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Indonesia over the next seven years.

“Carlson Rezidor is achieving steady growth in Asia Pacific, especially in high-growth markets like China, India and Indonesia. We have opened 35 new hotels and added 48 hotels to our pipeline over the last two years. We have had a strong start in 2013 and will carry that momentum into the rest of the year,” said Simon C. Barlow, the company’s President for Asia Pacific.

Carlson Rezidor is now planning to add 13 more hotels before the end of the year, bringing its total operating portfolio to 101 hotels in the Asia Pacific region.
