Marriott International Inc. agreed to buy Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. in a deal valued at about $12.2 billion that will create the world’s largest hotel company.
Combined, the companies would operate or franchise more than 5,500 hotels with 1.1 million rooms worldwide, according to a statement on Monday.
