Four Seasons to launch new luxury hotel in Jakarta

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to manage a new all-suite luxury hotel in Jakarta.

The new Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta will be located in Capital Place, a new high-end development located in the city’s Sudirman business district.

The property will replace the city’s existing Four Seasons hotel in Jakarta, which is located on Jalan HR Rasuna Said and has been closed for renovation since late 2014. Both properties are owned by the Rajawali Property Group.

“Four Seasons has proudly operated in Jakarta for 20 years. We have tremendous confidence in this market and look forward to a long and bright future here,” said Michael A. Crawford, Four Seasons’ president for Asia Pacific. “This is a unique opportunity to operate a new luxury hotel in Jakarta, while continuing our successful relationship with the Rajawali Property Group.

“We always strive to bring our guests the best, most remarkable properties and experiences, and we feel privileged to do so with the addition of this spectacular hotel, one that unites the vibrancy of downtown Jakarta with Four Seasons’ unparalleled level of personalisation and service,” he added.

Once open, Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta will feature 125 suites with views over the Jakarta skyline. A team of internationally-recognised architects and designers has been brought in for the project, including Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, New York-based interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud, and Bangkok-based Bill Bensley, who will design the outdoor spaces.

Hotel facilities will include restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness centre, and conference and banqueting space.

“Capital Place is a remarkable project that represents our bold vision for the city of Jakarta,” said Shirley Tan, CEO of Rajawali Property Group. “We are excited to introduce Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta as the centrepiece of this important development.”

Four Seasons currently operates more than 20 hotels across Asia Pacific, including locations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo and Bali.
