Centara Hotels & Resorts will open its sixth hotel in Pattaya later this year.
The hotel company has signed a management contract for the Centara Grand Modus Resort & Spa Pattaya, which is due to open in the Thai resort town’s Naklua area in the third quarter of 2013.
“We have always been very confident indeed in Pattaya as one of Thailand’s prime destinations, and this new property is a strategic signing for us that places our third Pattaya Grand-branded hotel in yet another key part of the city,” said Centara’s CEO, Thirayuth Chirathivat.
Located on Wong Amat Beach, Centara Grand Modus will have a total of 215 rooms including several family or interconnecting rooms, and a selection of units with direct access to one of the three resort swimming pools. Other facilities will include two restaurants, a spa, fitness centre, kids’ club, conference rooms, and a stretch of private beach with beach club. The development also includes 300 condos, which will be managed by Centara.
“We have Grand-branded hotels at North Pattaya, South Pattaya and Jomtien, and the new property at Naklua places us in a very strong marketing position,” said Chris Bailey, senior vice president for Centara Hotels & Resorts. “The hotel is also one of the very small number in Pattaya that, like our Grand Mirage, is placed directly on the beach. That is an enormous advantage.”
Bangkok-based Centara now has 40 properties in Thailand and a further 18 international resorts.
