ONYX is expanding its new OZO brand outside Thailand. After OZO Hong Kong, the company will open its first property in Malaysia, in the heart of Georgetown.
Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group has announced a new project under its OZO brand in Penang, Malaysia. OZO is a new hotel brand created around a core concept, offering less frills and more control, it provides guests with quality services that count and amenities they actually want, enabling them to maximise their time on the road.
Located on the edge of the UNESCO heritage site in the centre of Georgetown, OZO Penang will be the first OZO property in Malaysia. Scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2016, the property will offer 132 sleep inducing guest rooms and all the other signatures for which the quirky select service brand is gaining its reputation, including ‘Talk’ meetings rooms, an ‘O2Go’ grab and go outlet, ‘Eat’, the place to go for breakfast and grazing all day and fitness centre ‘Tone’.
OZO is the latest brand from ONYX Hospitality Group, known for its upscale Amari brand in Thailand and the Middle East. Since the OZO brand was launched in 2009, a number of key projects have been announced. The first ever OZO property opened in Hong Kong in May 2013 and further management agreements have been signed for projects in Thailand and Sri Lanka.
